International Yoga Day 2022 celebration

Sou Laxmibai English Medium School celebrated 'The International Yoga Day' on June 21st following the theme "Yoga for Health and Humanity ". The President of the school Honourable Mr. Prasad Kulkarni Sir , Who is always at the forefront to ensure the best for the students, initiated this maiden event, at the start of the academic year!

After almost 3 long years of students’ isolation from schools,This event held great significance, as to take the students from obesity to fitness, distractions to concentration, social networking to physical health and happiness.

”The most important & popular tool for managing all these under one umbrella cover is of course’Yoga “ , Said Mr Prasad Kulkarni. The school specially invited the renowned Yoga therapist Mr. Harshad Nere, known for his 'Deep Yoga', Yoga on ice slabs' and 'Power Yoga' and he rightly elevated the celebration being the distinguished chief guest. The session was conducted by him for the students of 9th and 10th ,to enhance concentration and focus and to ensure flexibility and immunity, particularly enhance lung capacity and it served as an eye opener to overcome stress and obesity caused due to the sedentary lifestyle in the course of the COVID pandemic. The school trustee Mr. Abhishek kulkarni applauded & emphasised on the power of yoga for better living in his address .Mrs Pooja Kulkarni coordinated the entire program & mentioned, "The pandemic has caused significant mental, physical and emotional strife to many and practicing yoga is the holistic approach to gain back our physical and mental health." Secondary section Headmistress, Mrs Pradnya Rajopadhye, envisaged the benefits of Yoga and created awareness among the students.

The celebration extended further with students from V to VIII practising various Yoga Asanas, SuryaNamaskar, Pranayama and meditation and ended with students taking a pledge to practice yoga in their everyday life, as a lifestyle!

The program was hosted by Mrs Harshada Pande and was ably supported by the entire Teaching & Non-Teaching staff.

Shishuvihar - Picnic 2019

Life needs a few more Polka dots and Picnics!” is an apt saying by Scott Fitzgerald. Like all students over the globe and like all schools around, Picnic is one of the most awaited events of the year for everybody! Not only kids but the staff too eagerly awaits this day. From resorts, water parks, amusement parks to various heritage gardens and museums we all love a good old Picnic. SHISHUVIHAR section thought well of this and arranged the most rejuvenating and fun picnic for the little kindergarten kids to cherish! Our in-charge Mrs. Pradnya Rajopadhye and Principal Mr. Prasad Kulkarni ensured well qualified amenities for our beloved wards, a well ventilated bus with ample seats allowed eccentric singing sessions in the bus where all the kids danced and made merry. Upon reaching the destination which was about an hour from the school into the silent and cool shadows of the interiors of a near by village, the kids cooled off in a vast shed, after which everyone relished on a yummy and healthy breakfast. After a good filled tummy, the kids were taken to show animals like cows and variety of parrots, later they were taken on small rides viz, train, boats, cup and soccer, merry go round, giant wheels etc for enjoyment. They squeaked and jumped as well as danced to the numbers put on for them. After a comforting lunch what could be better than a magic show? Picnic for little kids is not only all merry making but also a crucial learning process where they learn basic manners and Golden rules, how to walk in 2s, make queues, share, play etc. Calling it a day they left with a small token of love in form of candy floss, popcorn and ice-creams. Everyone reached home safe and sound but most importantly with a smile and memories to cherish forever and beyond!

Shishuvihar - Sports Day

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is a very interesting adage, not only does it highlight the importance of play and sports physically but also suggests that sports is necessary for better mental health. Raising awareness of mental health, the always enthusiastic SHISHUVIHAR section of esteemed org Sou. Laxmibai Eng Med School declared 2 entire weeks dedicated to sports where in children showing additional knack for sports were carefully observed and selected through to the semi-finals and finals. During these two weeks the teachers were on their toes under the guidance of our ever supportive in-charge Mrs. Pradnya Rajopadhye and our dear Principal Mr. Prasad Kulkarni. Children were shown videos on importance of outdoor sports and physical fitness as well as mental healthcare, this paved way to a lovely nostalgia towards the 90’s outdoor games that are long forgotten. The kids were made to learn and practice various races viz, Flat race, Bunny hop race, Ostrich race, Obstacle race and ring race where in they learnt how to up their sports game, how to race in lanes, how to be sporting, how races can be conducted etc. The final was a complete hit with a march by the little kids bearing the torch of light and health as they marched towards the racing zone. The kids loved the experience and dozens of winners emerged. Indeed play, sports lead to a better and healthier life. Kudos to Shishuvihar for another successful event!

Children's Day celebration - secondary section

“Childhood is the most beautiful of all life’s Seasons” Sou Laxmibai English Medium School celebrated November 14 Children’s Day which marks the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru with enthusiasm and zeal keeping in mind his words ” I may not have time for adults but I have enough time for children”
The teachers of the secondary section under the able guidance of the honourable Principal of the school, Mr. Prasad Kulkarni, took charge of the celebrations to make the day unforgettable for the students .The celebration included dance and singing competition for the students from standard 8th to 10th and fancy dress competition for the students from standard 5th to 7th. The scintillating dance performances and the mesmerizing songs by the students made everyone groove in. The fancy dress competition was the icing on the cake which received accolades from everyone. The fun filled day, for sure, will remind etched in the memory of one and all

'KIDS BAZAAR' on occasion of Children's Day - Primary section

On Thursday,November 14,students of Sou Laxmibai English Medium school,Primary Section STD IV were open for Business as they presented themselves as Sellers at KID BAZAAR organised by the school on the occasion of Children’s Day.The objective of the event was to provide the students with real world experience,where they will not only learn to market & sell products but also learn consumer service skills, planning & co-ordination skills & the value of a hard earned money.”It was a good opportunity for the school children to learn marketing skills,” said Mr. Prasad Kulkarni, President of the school.28 stalls were put up which included stationary items, vegetables, snacks counter, novelty,pulses etc. GameZone was also the part of this event.”We helped our mothers in preparing the dishes.I went to the market to buy the vegetables” were some of the responses of the super excited sellers.”KIDSBAZAAR was a unique opportunity for our children to learn to be creative & learn what it means to be business minded while having fun” said Mrs. Vrushali Bhuvad, a parent.Primary Co ordinator Mrs. Pooja Kulkarni’s idea of giving “out-of-classroom” experience ,allowed students to apply what they had learned from textbooks and understand how business is run in the real market. This event was a huge success.
Students carried loads of joy and radiant smiles on their SPECIAL day , as they were successful entrepreneurs to be in future !!!

Diwali Oath

EVS Fun club Std IV - Rangoli and paper lantern making workshop

Ahead of the auspicious festival of Diwali ,students of Sou. Laxmibai English Medium School,Primary Section Std 4th were involved in the Rangoli and paper lantern making workshop under EVS FUN CLUB (Parivartan).Primary co-ordinator Mrs. Pooja Kulkarni guided the entire activity.The aim behind conducting the activity was to encourage students to celebrate festival in an innovative way.Miss Chitra demonstrated the art of doing intricate SANSKAR BHARTI Rangoli & Paper Lantern designs.All the teachers happily put their hand at work and children merrily gave expert vibrant touch to their rangolis and lantern .The whole activity was fun-filled and the festive mood was kicked off.
